Lack of radio listeners concerns station WKNH - Keene Equinox - News: "Although most students are aware that it exists, 92 percent of students at Keene State College do not listen to the college radio station, WKNH according to a survey conducted last month by a journalism class. WKNH is a student-run radio station at KSC that has been in existence since 1971. The offices are located on the third floor of the Young Student Center, and the station is licensed to the Board of Trustees at the University System of New Hampshire. "
30 years of KJHK: Jacki Becker | lawrence.com: "i used to be one of those kids my freshman year in college who would call up and request music all the time (i was the girl that requested 'negative creep' by nirvana over and over again). i never thought i could ever have the opportunity to actually be on the radio. i was a creative writing/poly-sci major. however i was eating pizza at rudy's and the at that time program director told me he thought i had a nice voice and asked i if i might be interested in becoming a dj. it was then i took the obligatory 3-6am shift for the summer."
Obscenity, Indecency & Profanity: "It is a violation of federal law to air obscene programming at any time. It is also a violation of federal law to broadcast indecent or profane programming during certain hours. Congress has given the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) the responsibility for administratively enforcing the law that governs these types of broadcasts. The FCC has authority to issue civil monetary penalties, revoke a license or deny a renewal application. In addition, violators of the law, if convicted in a federal district court, are subject to criminal fines and/or imprisonment for not more than two years."
