April 2001

It's the home stretch for many of us. Student elections, interviews, summer preparation. Don't forget to us this listserve for any help or questions. Collectively, we are wise. Pass the word to your co-workers to sign on to the listserve as well.

1) Hopefully, most of you have processed the necessary paperwork and have become official members of CBI. As members, you are eligible to participate in the awards competition. Deadline is early May with categories and information is available in the CMA mailing.

2) LPFM rules to comply with new spacing requirements have been changed by the FCC. There will be a window for those having already filed to amend their application. Check the FCC's website at fcc.gov for more information.

3) Mark you calendars and budgets for next year for the CMA/ACP/CBI National conference in New Orleans October 25-28.

4) From the NAB Legal Calendar:

By April 10 All stations: Place the Issues/Programs List for the January 1 - March 31, 2001, calendar quarter in your public inspection file. All commercial TELEVISION stations: Electronically file the Children's TV Programming Report (FCC Form 398) for the January 1 - March 31, 2001, calendar quarter. Place a copy of it AND documentation regarding children's programming commercial time for the January 1 - March 31, 2001, calendar quarter in your public file.

5) Have a great end of the semester.

Interim Vice President-CBI
